Peterborough United won their opening League match of the season against Plymouth Argyle but who stood out to pick up the first man of the match accolade?

Posh picked up three points from their opening match of the season when beating Plymouth Argyle two-one.

Argyle were unfortunate to be one down at half-time as they were the better side. A cross by Leo Da Silva Lopes in the fourth minute was deflected into the net by an Argyle defender who was disappointed to be credited with an own goal!

Posh doubled their lead two minutes into the second-half when new striker Jack Marriott controversially robbed the ball off an Argyle defender who decided to fall over before putting the ball on a plate for Junior Morias to open his scoring for the season.

Argyle managed to get a goal back while Marcus Maddison was pole-axed on the floor at the other end of the pitch. Despite all the flack he has received from Posh fans, he did depart the action soon afterwards with an injury!

Although we felt Argyle deserved a point, Posh managed to hold on to all three points.

There were promising performances from some of the new players and as long as they all show the same determination, then Posh should have more better days than bad days.
