'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Posh Weekly - 6-November-2013

<div style='background-color: #005abb;'><a href='http://news.rsspump.com/' title='news'>headlines</a></div>

Vital Posh looks at the latest news coming out of Peterborough United over the past week and also what their rival teams in League One are up to.

CLASSY O`s DEFEAT PATHETIC POSH

League leaders Leyton Orient showed just why they sit top of the league when they outclassed Posh and stormed to a 3-1 victory.

In truth, Posh were awful and could`ve conceded more than the three goals as, yet again, many players played below the standards we know they are capable of.

Voting is still open to rate the players performance with the winner being named Man of the Match. To rate the players, CLICK HERE.

TOMLIN AWAITING FURTHER PUNISHMENT

Lee Tomlin is still waiting to find out whether he faces further punishment for his tantrum following his sending off at Colchester United.

He could receive a further 3 match ban on top of the three matches he is currently serving for his sending off!

BOBBY BATTLING FOR AWARD

Hot on the heels of nominations for Britt Assombalonga and Darren Ferguson in the last two months, Bobby Olejnik has been nominated for the League One Player of the Month Award for October.

He kept a clean sheet in all five League matches during October.

TICKET UPDATES

The Wolverhampton Wanderers match on 30th November at London Road has been made all ticket. After discussions with various parties and taking into consideration the number of tickets already sold, it was deemed best to make it all-ticket.

Tickets for this weekends FA Cup match with Exeter City are on sale priced at just 15 (if bought on advance). What do you think the score will be? Vote in the prediction poll HERE.

Posh`s trip to Brentford is now on sale. The match, on Tuesday 26th November, is priced at 21 for adults seated and 20 standing. Ticket prices will rise on the day of the match.

POSH PLAYER OF THE MONTH

Voting is open UNTIL MIDNIGHT TONIGHT [Wednesday, 6th November] to find out who the fans thought was the Posh player of the month for October.

Only players who have been involved in at least half the matches are eligible in the poll.

Results will be announced tomorrow.

POSH GOAL OF THE MONTH

This is a new one for Vital Posh and we will hopefully be running a poll each month to find out the top goal of each month with each winner then being put forward to the goal of the season poll.

The October Posh goal of the month poll is also open UNTIL MIDNIGHT TONIGHT [Wednesday, 6th November]

Results will be announced tomorrow.

Vital Posh will bring you, belatedly, goal of the month competitions for August and September in the next few weeks.

MAN OF THE MATCH AWARDS

The Vital Posh Man of the Match award for the match against Shrewsbury Town and Sheffield United have been announced.

POSH TRANSFER UPDATE

Paul Taylor has returned to parent club Ipswich Town early after being recalled. Taylor was due to return after last weekends match against Leyton Orient but he returned in time to sit on the Ipswich Town bench for their 1-1 Friday night draw with Barnsley. Taylor came on with eight minutes remaining.

Kane Ferdinand has left London Road on loan and has gone to basement side Northampton Town. Ferdinand played the whole match for the Cobblers on Saturday in their defeat at Plymouth. Argyle won the match with a 90th minute strike. Ferdinand has also been given permission to appear for the Cobblers in the FA Cup this weekend when they face Bishop`s Stortford on Sunday afternoon in the live televised match on ITV.

Following their second defeat in a row, Darren Ferguson and Darragh MacAnthony have had a long discussion and have identified how Posh need to improve. It looks like Posh may delve into the loan market to bolster their squad.

Four Posh players remain on the transfer list: Gaby Zakuani, Tommy Rowe, Tyrone Barnett, and Nicky Ajose.

The following players have so far departed London Road on permanent deals:

George Boyd has signed for Premiership newboys Hull City
Jonson Clarke-Harris signed for League One rivals Oldham Athletic for an nominal fee
Dwight GayleDwight Gayle has made a multi-million pound move to Premiership Crystal Palace
Emile Sinclair - Crawley Town 3Emile Sinclair joined League One rivals Crawley Town for a fee of 100,000

LEAGUE ONE ROUND-UP

Following last weeks sacking of Notts County manager Chris Kiwomya, the Magpies have announced a new manager. QPR midfielder Shaun Derry, who was on loan at Millwall, has been appointed as player-manager for the club he started his career at.

Sad news at Tranmere where Rovers winger Joe Thompson has been diagnosed with cancer. Tranmere fought out a 1-1 draw with Preston on Saturday but both sets of supporters took part in a minutes applause in the seventh minute - Thompson`s squad number. Best wishes to Joe in his fight.

As we already know, the O`s sent out a statement to the rest of League One on Saturday when defeating Posh 3-1 at London Road.

Wolves consolidated their second place by beating Stevenage 2-0 on Saturday before drawing 2-2 with Carlisle last night. They are just two points behind the O`s but have a four point gap over third placed Posh.

Managerless Notts County are rooted to the bottom of the League two points behind Sheffield United. Crewe Alexandra and Tranmere Rovers are a point further ahead.
