Posh vs. Crewe

Posh v Crewe

Posh face Crewe this Tuesday evening keen to eradicate the memory of the 3-1 loss to Leeds United, on Saturday, and get their promotion charge back on the rails. With reduced admission prices let`s hope that there is a bumper crowd inside London Road.

Vital Quotes:

Posh Team News:

Posh go into the encounter without the suspended Craig Morgan who will be serving a one game ban after picking up five yellow cards. Also out will be Tom Williams after his recent knee operation as well as long term injury victims Shane Blackett and Jamie Day.

Player to watch: George Boyd

Darren Ferguson was very quick to describe Boyd`s performance, up at Leeds, as out of this world, let`s hope he can produce something similar against a Crewe side that were hammered by 'The Cobblers` on Saturday.

Crewe Team News:

Crewe will be without their captain, Julian Baudet, for the clash as he is suspended after picking up a red card in the 5-1 thrashing by Northampton.

Luke Murphy will also be absent due to a foot injury and a reshuffle will see Danny Woodwards playing at centre half.

Time to take advantage Posh?

Player to watch: Tom Pope

Top scorer with five goals.

Match Facts & Stats

The omens look good for Posh with Crewe sat in 24th place in the table and shipping, on average, 2.4 goals per game as opposed to scoring 1.1.

Match Prediction:

This, on paper at least, looks a clear cut home win. Crewe are not having the best of times and they should provide the kind of opposition you dream about when it come sot getting your season back on track. Unfortunately, life isn`t like that and Crewe will be desperate to make amends to their boss after falling apart against Northampton. This could be a tight affair but I can`t see Posh coming a cropper and after the initial flurry from Crewe I`ll go for a 3-0 win for Posh.

Next Fixtures:

Posh travel to Huddersfield this Saturday for a tricky League One encounter.
