The man in charge of the televised Sky Bet EFL League One match between AFC Wimbledon and Peterborough United is DARREN HANDLEY.

Lancashire-based official Darren Handley has only three full season under his belt in the Football League after spending a number of seasons officiating in non-league.

Despite having such a short career in the Football League so far, Handley has actually refereed six Posh matches and, spookily, the last time came in April at Wimbledon!!

That match finished goalless while the Dons picked up all three yellow cards shown during the match.

Posh have had a mixed bag of results with Handley officiating having lost twice, drawn three times and won just once! That win came in the first round of the FA Cup last season when Posh hosted non-league Chesham United.

Shaq Coulthirst opened the scoring against Chesham five minutes before the break and then added a second in the 70th minute. Chesham did pull a goal back with 10 minutes remaining but they couldn`t get an equaliser. No cards were shown in the match at all.

The Dons have only had Handley officiated them three times. They`ve drawn two of those matches and lost the other one. Aside from the Posh match, which was the last time they had Handley officiate them, they`ve drawn one-all at Leyton Orient and lost 3-2 at home to Stevenage.

The O`s match saw six yellow cards and one red card while there were another four yellows in the Stevenage match!

So far this season, Handley has officiated 16 matches issuing 48 yellow cards and 3 red cards.

The last match Handley officiated was on Bonfire Night in Cambridge. The Sunday clash in the FA Cup saw the U`s reduced to 10-men five minutes before half-time but that didn`t stop them scoring the only goal of the game on the stroke of half-time against non-league Sutton United.

The last League One match Handley officiated came in mid-October at leaders Shrewsbury Town. Bristol Rovers, along with former Posh striker Tom Nichols, were the visitors but they left the New Meadow with their tails firmly between their legs after suffering a four-nil thumping. All four goals came in the first half with Rovers picking up the only yellow card of the match.

The assistant referees for the Dons v Posh clash are Andrew Aylott and Joe Clark. The fourth official is Gavin Ward who officiated Posh`s win at local rivals Cambridge United on Tuesday evening in the Checkatrade Trophy.
