The man in charge of the Sky Bet EFL League One match between Bristol Rovers and Peterborough United is NICHOLAS KINSELEY.

Essex-based official Nick Kinseley is making his first appearance as the man in the middle when Posh travel to Bristol to face Rovers at the Memorial Ground.

Since 2007/2008, Kinseley has spent many years refereeing in the Conference although for most of those earlier seasons, Kinseley officiated just a handful of matches. He finally made the step up to the Football League in 2015/16.

With just two seasons under his belt, it`s not surprising that you can count the number of times he has refereed Posh and the Pirates on one hand.

Posh have had the pleasure of Kinseley just once with that match coming towards the end of November 2015. Barnsley were the League One visitors to London Road but it was Posh that opened the scoring through Lee Angol.

Conor Hourihane equalised from the spot seven minutes before half-time but two goals in eleven minutes gave Posh a strong-hold on the game thanks to goals from Miles Addison [pictured below] and Marcus Maddison.

The Tykes quickly pulled a goal back through Sam Winnall but Kevin Long was sent off for the visitors with seven minutes remaining which killed off any hope they had of equalizing.

Four yellow cards were shown in the match with all four going to Posh players. However, there was that one sending off as well for the Tykes.

The Pirates have had twice as many matches officiated by Kinseley as Posh! Both matches also came in the 2015/16 season but they had mixed results.

The first match, at home to Newport County in a League Two clash, saw five goals scored. Sadly for Rovers, four of them were in their net! Both sides scored inside the first 15 minutes but it was three second-half goals that killed off Rovers. Just one yellow card was shown in the match which went to the Welsh side.

The second time came at Oxford United in January last year. The match was goalless at half-time but the hosts scored inside 60 seconds of the restart. Rovers managed to equalize six minutes later before winning the match with a penalty in the 88th minute! Three yellow cards were issued in the game with one going to a Rovers player.

Last season, Kinseley officiated 31 matches showing 113 yellow cards and six red cards. The last League One match officiated by Kinseley came on the last day of the season as AFC Wimbledon hosted Oldham Athletic. With nothing to play for, the match finished goalless with just one yellow card being shown to the Latics Michael Ngoo.

The assistant referees for the Rovers v Posh clash are Mark Derrien and Robert Dabbs. The fourth official is Samuel Ogles.
