Robins After Rowe

Bristol City are hoping to tempt former Peterborough United captain Tommy Rowe to Ashton Gate.

Tommy Rowe - On his way to Bristol City?

Experienced midfielder Tommy Rowe came to the end of his contract at Posh at the end of the season and had made it known to the Posh hierarchy that he wouldn`t be signing a new contract as he wanted to move back north.

However, a team further south than Posh are attempting to attract the player who is currently looking at a number of offers already from clubs.

Bristol City boss Steve Cotterill wants to see "sexy football" at Ashton Gate next season and Tommy Rowe is one of the targets Cotterill would like to get his hands on.

The Robins have already been in contact with Rowe`s agent after they failed in their attempt to sign highly rated Exeter City midfielder Matt Grimes.

Rowe scored nine goals for Posh last season and it is his scoring exploits that Cotterill wants to help bolster his side and take the pressure off front duo Sam Baldock and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas.

Will Rowe be attracted by an offer from a team even further south than Posh?

Rowe is easily good enough to play in the Championship and he should be looking at that level for his next career move.
