Vital Posh looks at previous matches between Peterborough United and Rotherham United ahead of the Sky Bet League One match at London Road.

Peterborough United v Colchester United
Location: London Road
Date: Wednesday, 2nd April, 2014
Kick-off: 19:45pm

Colchester Home

Posh and the U`s have played each other 65 times in the League but there`s not much to choose between them. Posh have won 27 times compared to Colchester`s 25 wins. There have been just 13 draws in the League between the two sides.

The U`s won the corresponding fixture back in October when Macauley Bonne celebrated his 18th birthday with the only goal of the game in the 70th minute. Lee Tomlin had earlier been sent off!

Last Time Out At London Road

2010-11 Posh v Colchester United programme

Posh remained in fourth place after drawing 1-1 with Colchester but it could`ve been so much more even though Darren Ferguson felt a draw was the most his side deserved.

Craig Mackail-Smith nearly gave Posh the lead but was denied by the visiting goalkeeper Ben Williams. In the resulting melee, George Boyd took two attempts to poke the ball past Williams for the opening goal of the game.

Just over 10 minutes level at the visitors drew level when Ian Henderson collected a Nathan Clarke throw-in and looped a shot into the net past Joe Lewis.

Williams had to be at his best when Lee Tomlin curled an effort against the post and late efforts from Mackail-Smith and Charlie Lee were thwarted as Posh looked to pinch all three points but to no avail.
