Posh Narrow Favourites To Beat Millers

Football League sponsors Sky Bet make Peterborough United very narrow favourites to beat fellow play-off rivals Rotherham United in the League One clash at London Road.

Posh beat one of their main rivals for the last play-off place last weekend when winning 2-0 at MK Dons but that was just their second win in five matches played during March.

The Millers are having an excellent season and they`ve maintained a very steady, but impressive record of results. They are currently on a 12-match unbeaten run having only suffered one defeat this season which came on New Years Day. They`ve won eight of those 12 matches but they still only find themselves in 5th place.

Britt Assombalonga is having a brilliant first season at London Road and has notched 27 goals so far while the once forgotten man, Nicky Ajose, has 16 goals. Newcomer Conor Washington has made a good impression since arriving at Posh and has forced his way into the starting line-up after some good performances. He has just one goal from seven appearances so far but he has won two penalties in that time!

The Millers top scorer is former Posh loanee Kieran Agard who has scored 15 goals this season while Lee Frecklington is having an injury-free season and is benefitting from that by hitting 12 goals; two more than he scored in the whole of his time at Posh!

The Football League sponsors Sky Bet have Posh at 7/5 to beat the Millers with Rotherham at 9/5 for the win. The draw is priced at 12/5.

Yet again, Sky Bet has a 1-1 draw with the lowest odds. This is priced at 5/1 with the next lowest odds being 17/2 for a 1-0 and 2-1 Posh win. The lowest odds for a Millers win is 9/1 for a 1-0 and 2-1 win.

There has been a wide range of predictions in the poll being run by Vital Posh to predict the score but there is a tie for top spot. These are 2-1 and 2-0 wins for Rotherham.

You can get odds of 9/1 for the 2-1 Millers win and 14/1 for the 2-0 win.

Britt Assombalonga is the bookies favourite to score the first goal of the game as he is priced at 3/1 while Nicky Ajose is close behind at 4/1. They are priced at 8/11 and evens respectively to score at any point in the game.

Despite being the Millers second top scorer, Lee Frecklington [pictured above] is priced at 11/1 to notch the first goal of the game but he is only 4/1 to score during the 90 minutes. Kieran Agard and Wes Thomas are the joint favourite Millers players to score the opening goal of the game at 6/1 while they are 7/4 to score during the match.

If you fancied a little flutter on the other ex-Posh player playing for the Millers today, you can get 40/1 for Craig Morgan to strike the first goal of the game and 14/1 to score at any time in the game.
