Posh Favourites To Beat The Cumbrians

<div style='background-color: #005abb;'><a href='' title='news'>headlines</a></div>

Peterborough United are favourites to beat Carlisle United in their last Sky Bet League One match of 2013.

Carlisle Away

Carlisle United v Peterborough United
Location: Brunton Park
Date: 29th December, 2013
Kick-off: 15:00pm

Carlisle lost to a single goal defeat to promotion chasing Preston North End on Boxing Day which was their first defeat at home since October!

The Cumbrians home form is certainly good and the reason why they are hovering around mid-table rather than fighting the clutches of relegation.

Posh also suffered defeat on Boxing Day when they fell apart in the second half against Coventry City as they suffered a 4-2 defeat despite being 2-1 up at the break.

Prior to that defeat Posh were on a five match unbeaten run with their last defeat coming towards the end of November at the hands of Brentford.

Although Carlisle have a very good record at home this season, the Football League sponsors, Sky Bet, have Posh at 21/20 favourites to win the match. Carlisle are priced at 12/5 with the draw at 5/2.

The correct score odds have a 1-1 draw as the lowest odds priced at 6/1. The lowest odds for a Carlisle win is 10/1 for a 1-0 and 2-1 win which are the same scoreline with the lowest odds for a Posh win which are priced at 15/2.

The current favourite prediction in the poll being run by Vital Posh is a 2-0 win for Posh. You can get odds of 9/1 for a 2-0 Posh win.

Britt Assombalonga has 16 goals to his name this season and he is the bookies favourite to score the first goal of the match priced at 7/2. He is 10/11 to score at any time during the match. Shaun Jeffers and Tyrone Barnett are the next favourite Posh players to score the first goal (6/1) and are 7/4 to score during the 90 minutes.

Four-goal Lee Miller is the Carlisle player Sky Bet have as the favourite to score the first goal of the game at 6/1 while he is 7/4 to score at any time in the match. They also have Lewis Guy as the second favourite (7/1) to score the first goal of the match even though he has only scored two goals this season! The Cumbrians top scorer, David Amoo, is priced at 8/1 to score the first goal and 11/4 to score in 90 minutes while their second top scorer, Matty Robson, is priced at 10/1 and 7/2 respectively although he is suffering from a back injury and is expected to miss the match.
