Posh Favourites To Beat Rovers

Football League sponsors Sky Bet make Peterborough United favourites to beat League One rivals Tranmere Rovers in this weekends FA Cup.

Many questions Sky Bet when they had Posh as slight favourites to beat Wolves last weekend but they were spot on! This week, they have Posh as clear favourites to win the second round FA Cup match.

Posh have won three out of their last six matches which includes two Cup matches and they now face two Cup matches in a row with the semi-final of the JP Trophy coming up next week. Posh have struggled for form for many weeks but they put in a battling display to defeat Wolves in their last match out and they will need more of the same against a resurgent Rovers.

Rovers endured a pitiful start to the season which included a 5-0 drubbing at home by Posh but they are now on an excellent run of form which has seen them lose just once in eight matches. The run has coincided with striker Ryan Lowe hitting 10 goals in his last 10 matches which has seen him pick up the November Player of the Month award for November.

The Football League sponsors Sky Bet have Posh at 8/13 to beat Rovers with the Rovers at 9/2 for the win. The draw is priced at 29/10.

Sky Bet has a 2-1 Posh win and a 1-1 draw as the lowest odds at 7/1. The lowest odds for a Rovers win is 12/1 for a 2-1 win.

The current favourite prediction in the poll being run by Vital Posh is a 2-1 Rovers win!

Britt Assombalonga

Posh top scorer Britt Assombalonga [pictured above] returns to the starting line-up after surviving a one-match suspension for picking up five yellow cards and he is the favourite to score the first goal of the match priced at 7/2. He is 10/11 to score at any time during the match. Fellow striker Tyrone Barnett is close behind on 4/1 for the first goal and evens to score during the 90 minutes with Lee Tomlin priced at 9/2 and 5/4.

Ryan Lowe is not surprisingly favourite to be the first goal scorer in a Rovers shirt. He is priced at 7/1 while he is 12/5 to score at any time in the match. Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro and Akpo Sodje are joint second faourites priced at 8/1 and 11/4 for the first and any time scoring markets.
