Walsall v Peterborough United Form Guide

<div style='background-color: #005abb;'><a href='http://news.rsspump.com/' title='news'>headlines</a></div>

Vital Posh looks at the form of both Walsall and Peterborough United ahead of today`s Sky Bet League One match.

Walsall Away

Posh have lost their last two League matches but have won two matches since while Walsall also won in the FA Cup in their last match.

Walsall

The Saddler`s finished in 9th place last season and in the early part of this season it looked like they were definitely going to improve on that but recent results have seen them fall back from a season high of 3rd place.

They`ve suffered single goal defeats in their last two league matches against MK Dons and Coventry but did win 3-1 away at Swindon Town prior to that.

A win against Posh will see the Saddler`s rise four places to 7th and just one point from the play-off places.

At home, the Saddler`s have won two matches, against Tranmere Rovers and Stevenage, drawn two and lost three matches.

Their last outing at the Banks` Stadium saw them win 3-0 in the FA Cup against Shrewsbury Town. Two Craig Westcarr goals and a Romaine Sawyers goal saw the home side to a comfortable win.

Walsall won`t be easy pushovers though as they have taken the scalp of Wolves this season when beating them 1-0 at Molineux!
Craig Westcarr is the Saddler`s leading scorer with 8 goals this season while Ashley Hemmings has four goals.

Peterborough United

Posh are looking to get back to winning ways in the league after suffering back-to-back defeats to Leyton Orient and Colchester United. They have since beaten League Two opposition in both the FA Cup (2-0 v Exeter City) and the Johnstone`s Paint Trophy quarter-final (1-0 v Dagenham & Redbridge).

Their last away match was at Colchester United which saw a late U`s goal snatch all three points. This was the match Lee Tomlin was sent off after the lineman said he`d kicked an opposition player. After the game the referee changed the decision to say he`d hit a player…neither a kick or hit could be seen when viewing the incident!! Tomlin should`ve been back for this match but the FA gave him an extra match suspension for his tantrum leaving the pitch against Colchester!

Britt Assombalonga had gone nine matches without a goal but has since scored on his last two appearances. He now has 10 goals in 21 appearances while fellow strike partner Tyrone Barnett has seven goals.
