Vital Posh looks at the form of both Port Vale and Peterborough United ahead of Saturday`s Sky Bet League One match.
Going into the start of the season, both teams had targets they wanted to achieve and after 10 League games, they are both on course to achieving them.
Port Vale were promoted from League Two last season and want to make a good account of themselves and gain stability while Posh were relegated from the Championship and want to get back there.
The Valiants were promoted from League Two finishing in third place behind Rotherham United and champions Gillingham last season.
They started the season poorly with just one win and a draw from their first five League matches but they have certainly stepped it up in September. Four wins out of five competitive matches is a marked improvement especially as their only defeat was at League leaders Leyton Orient and they only lost 3-2 with the winner being scored two minutes from time!
Vale have played five matches at home this season and have only lost once. That defeat came at the end of August when they lost to Wolves. Tom Pope hit a last minute consolation goal after Wolves had scored three second half goals.
Their last outing at Vale Park saw them draw 1-1 with Bristol City and they had to thank Lee Hughes who scored a 90th minute equaliser!
Tom Pope hasn`t been as prolific this season in front of goal and has only scored three goals so far. Doug Loft also has three goals while veteran Lee Hughes is just one goal behind the pair.

Britt Assombalonga is still leading the scoring for Posh this season with 8 goals although he hasn`t found the net in the last four games. Lee Tomlin is just one behind but he has been out injured for the last three matches. Tyrone Barnett now has six goals to his name as he is picking up goals on a regular basis.
