Sky Bet League One match preview between the Posh and the Lilywhites.
Peterborough United -Vs- Preston North End
Venue: London Road
Date: 5th October, 2013
Posh entertain another unbeaten League One side as Preston arrive at London Road.
Posh have only lost once this season in the League and that came against Crawley Town but they have won seven out of their nine League matches.
Preston are one of two teams in League One that are still unbeaten after drawing their first four matches before winning the next five!
Darren Ferguson is expecting a tough match as he spoke ahead of the game. Find out what Fergie, Danny Kearns and Tommy Rowe had to say about the forthcoming game HERE.
Preston manager, Simon Grayson, was deservedly named League One Manager of the Month for September on Friday [4th October] is expecting the match to be a "tasteful" one! Find out what Grayson and goalkeeper Declan Ruud had to say about the forthcoming game HERE.
HEAD TO HEAD
There have only been 18 League encounters between these two sides and the last time they met at London Road, Darren Ferguson was in charge of Preston!
Posh have the better record with 8 wins compared to 4 wins for Preston. Six matches have ended in a tie.
The last time Posh hosted Preston at London Road, the Lilywhites returned home with all 3 points thanks to a Neil Mellor goal.

Posh boss Darren Ferguson is without suspended duo Mark Little and Nat Knight-Percival as they sit out the final match of their three match suspension.
Lee Tomlin is the only player out injured after picking up an injury in the Capital One Cup match at Sunderland. Loanee Paul Taylor [pictured below] is expected to fill Tomlin`s boots again for the match.
Vital Posh predicts the starting line-up will be:
Preston North End
A broken metatarsal means Jack King is the only absentee for Simon Grayson`s men.
Captain Keith Keane will be assessed ahead of the trip to London Road after he came off late in the home win over Swindon.
Summer signing Kevin Davies [pictured above] is expected to lead the frontline as the former England man continues to form an impressive partnership up front.
8 - Britt Assombalonga; 7 - Lee Tomlin; 5 - Tyrone Barnett; 3 - Grant McCann; 3 - Tommy Rowe
2 - Stuart Beavon; 2 - Joel Byrom; 2 - Kevin Davies; 2 - Chris Humphrey; 2 - Tom Clarke
Experienced referee Carl Boyeson from East Yorkshire has officiated 28 matches involving either Posh or Preston dating back over 10 years.
Boyeson has officiated 8 matches so far this season showing the yellow card 27 times while sending one player off.

He will be assisted by Mark Howes and Geoffrey Russell.
The fourth official is Andy Newbold.
This match looks like it will be the toughest test Posh have faced in the League this season. Preston like to play high up the field and restrict the opposition and that is one tactic Posh always struggles with.
Posh will have to show the battling qualities they showed in their last home against MK Dons but will hopefully not get any players sent off this time.
There won`t be much in this one but Posh will have to be at their best to get anything out of this game.
It will be a very tight but hopefully entertaining game but it could finish in a goalless draw!
Posh to draw: 0 - 0.
