The Black Cats and Posh have only ever met on six occasions; four times in the League and twice in the FA Cup. Posh have only won once and that came 21 years ago!

The last time these two sides met was two seasons ago at London Road in the FA Cup when Posh put up a poor performance and went down 2-0 through goals from Sebastian Larsson (48 mins) and one-time Posh target James McClean (58 mins). Two yellow cards were issued during the televised match with one card going to each side.
