Ref Watch: Peterborough United v MK Dons

The man in charge of the Sky Bet League One Cup match between Peterborough United and MK Dons is DARREN DRYSDALE.

Darren Drysdale

Experienced referee Darren Drysdale arrives at London Road for the first time since January when he oversaw Posh defeat Barnsley 2-1.

The Lincolnshire based referee refereed Posh twice last season. The first time was at Sheffield Wednesday when Posh went down 2-1 with both sides receiving one yellow card each. Michael Bostwick was the Posh recipient that time. The Tykes match was the second match Drysdale officiated Posh last season where he issued 7 yellow cards! Danny Swanson, Sean Brisley and Michael Bostwick (again! Will he make it a hat-trick on Saturday?) all received yellow cards with Barnsley receiving four yellows!

The RAF Sergeant based at RAF Coningsby also refereed MK Dons last season. One and only time came in November 2012 when the Dons drew 2-2 at Shrewsbury. The Dons also received both yellow cards that were issued in the match.

Drysdale has officiated 5 matches so far this season showing the yellow card 15 times while sending two players off.

Last season, Drysdale refereed 36 matches issuing 105 yellows cards and six red cards. This Saturday`s match will be Drysdale`s first League One match of the season. The last match he officiated was on Saturday when he took charge of Fleetwood v Torquay. Fleetwood won that match 4-1 with the home side receiving one yellow card compared to Torquays two yellow cards.

The assistant referees for this match will be Keith Lawson and Steven Meredith. The fourth official is Stephen Ross.
