Who Do You Want Posh To Play On The Opening Day?

English Football League fans are on the verge of the knowing the new fixtures for the 2013/14 campaign.

The fixtures will be released tomorrow morning [Wednesday] at 9am when we can all start to plan for the new season.

Those final seven minutes of last season have had a lasting effect on Posh and one which everyone connected with the club will want to rectify and the sooner the season starts the better.

It`s been a fairly quiet time on the transfer front at Posh and with very few believable rumours doing the rounds it`s been a long six weeks so far.

When the fixtures come out, the first thing you usually look for is the opening game of the season. That is usually followed by the last game of the season and then the festive period.

In years gone by, Posh fans would also look for their local rivals but unfortunately, there are none of the old established local rivalry teams in League One. The Cobblers failed to get through the League Two play-offs while Cambridge are still battling to make mid-table in non-league obscurity!

The closest teams to Posh this season come in the form of MK Dons (52.9 miles), Stevenage (53.3 miles) and Notts County (56.4 miles).

We have also long trips to Preston North End (179 miles), Tranmere (184 miles) and Carlisle United (226 miles), who we will probably get on a cold mid-winter Tuesday night.

So who do you think we will get on the opening day? Who would you like Posh to be playing?
