Posh Title Winning Keeper Passes Away

A former Peterborough United goalkeeper with five league titles to his name has sadly passed away aged 80.

Jack Walls played in Posh`s successful Midland League team from the mid-1950`s winning four titles before staring in the Fourth Division title winning team in 1960/61. He was an ever present in that title winning season which was Posh`s first ever season in the Football League. Posh lost just eight of their 46 matches in that season conceding 65 goals while scoring an incredible 134 goals.

In total, Walls made 240 appearances for Posh after signing from Barnsley. He eventually left London Road in 1962 and went on to play for Kings Lynn and Wisbech.

The funeral will take place on Monday [11th February].

Vital Posh sends condolences to Jack`s family and friends at this sad time.
