Ref Watch: Peterborough United v Burnley

The man in charge of the npower Championship match between Peterborough United and Burnley is Andy D`Urso.

Andy D

Essex based referee Andy D`Urso takes charge of his second Posh match of the season having previously been in charge of the narrow 3-2 Capital One Cup defeat at Premiership Reading. One yellow card was issued in that game to Posh midfielder Danny Swanson.

Posh also suffered a 3-2 defeat last season which was officiated by D`Urso but had a much happier result the season before that, 2010/11, when Posh defeated MK Dons 2-1 at London Road. Posh did pick up three yellow cards during that match but were thankful to Craig Mackail-Smith and Aaron MacLean for scoring the two goals that beat their bitter rivals.

Burnley last had the pleasure of Mr D`Urso during the 2010/11 season when he oversaw the match against Crystal Palace. Burnley won that match 1-0 thanks to a third minute Jay Rodriguez goal while Palace picked up both the yellow cards that were issued during that game.

D`Urso last took charge of a Championship match towards the end of December when Barnsley lost 3-1 at home to Blackburn Rovers. Three yellow cards were issued in that match with just one of them going to the hosts.

His last match was on Tuesday when Leyton Orient and Swindon fought out a goalless draw. Four yellow cards were issued on Tuesday with three of them going to Orient.

So far this season, D`Urso has officiated 25 matches showing the yellow card 55 times. He has sent off five players this season which is an average of one every five matches and it`s been four matches since he last sent anyone off! Lee Tomlin better watch out!
