Gayle Up For Championship Player of the Month

Peterborough United forward Dwight Gayle is in the final three nominated for the December Championship Player of the Month Award

Dwight Gayle celebrates scoring Poshs second goal against Cardiff

Gayle signed on loan for Posh from League Two outfit Dagenham and Redbridge and has made an immediate impact.

He scored seven goals in six matches in December which has helped his new team-mates move off the bottom of the Championship. He has since made his move permanent.

The other players up for the award are Anthony Gardner of Sheffield Wednesday and Mark Hudson from Cardiff City.

Gardner has only played in four matches in December but Wednesday kept a clean sheet in each of them while Hudson played five out of Cardiffs six matches in December. The only match he missed was Peterborough`s victory over the Bluebirds in the Cardiff City Stadium…a game in which Dwight Gayle scored!

The winner will be announced tomorrow [Friday, 11th January] on Sky Sports News from 10am.
