Posh Interested in Pope?

Are Peterborough United interested in Port Vale's Tom Pope?

Our friends at Vital Port Vale have hinted that Posh may be interested in their 27-year-old striker Tom Pope!

He is in the form of his life having scored 23 goals already this season which has obviously generated interest from teams higher up including the likes of Millwall and Leeds United.

The Staffordshire club are preparing themselves for plenty of interest in the forward but it is a potential move by Posh that could sway the Vale owners into parting company.

With Posh striker Lee Tomlin suspended for 3 matches following his sending off at Bristol City and fellow forward Dwight Gayle Cup-tied for the forthcoming FA Cup match with Norwich City, Posh are short of strikers with only teenagers left on the books.

Talks have already taken place with a view to bringing additional players into the club but is Pope one of them? He doesn't fall into the correct age range that Posh look at so the 'Pope to Posh' rumour may be just that...a rumour.
