Ref Watch: Peterborough United v Barnsley

The man in charge of the npower Championship match between Peterborough United and Barnsley is DARREN DRYSDALE.

Darren Drysdale

Experienced referee Darren Drysdale arrives at London Road for the first time since October 2011 when he oversaw Doncaster`s 2-1 win.

It will also be the second time he has refereed Posh this season as he was the official in charge of the recent Sheffield Wednesday match in early November. That match saw Posh put up a very disappointing display and came away with a 2-1 defeat. Each side received a yellow card with Michael Bostwick picking up the yellow card for Posh.

The RAF Sergeant based at RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire has also refereed Barnsley this season as well and it is one in which they remember well as it saw them stuff Birmingham City 5-0 at St Andrews! Craig Davies helped himself to four of the five second half goals while three yellow cards were issued in that game with two of them going to Barnsley.

Drysdale has officiated 20 matches so far this season showing the yellow card 65 times while sending three players off.

The last Championship match he officiated was on Saturday when he took charge of the Wolves v Ipswich match.
