Frecks After Millers Deal

Peterborough United midfielder Lee Frecklington is keen on making his loan move to Rotherham United a permanent one.

The 27 year-old midfielder has had an up-and-down time whilst at Posh. He didn't want to sign for Posh originally as he felt it would be a 'sideways move' from Lincoln City!!

He played seven times for Posh on loan during the 2008/09 season as he came off the bench on five occasions. He made the move permanent during that summer and played the majority of games the following season scoring four goals.

He suffered a bad injury during the next season which saw him make just nine appearances for the London Road club scoring one goal. Posh went on to get promoted back to the Championship via the play-offs as Frecklington battled to regain full fitness.

He was placed on the transfer list at the end of the 2010/11 season but his impressive form and very professional attitutde during the pre-season made Darren Ferguson re-think his plans over Frecks which ended with him being offered a new contract.

Frecks scored five goals in Posh's successful Championship campaign last season whilst making 39 appearances. However, this season didn't go too well as his form was well below par which resulted in him being shipped out on loan to Rotherham where his form has come back to him and he's enjoying his football again.

Millers manager Steve Evans is keen to turn Frecklingtons loan deal into a permanent one come January and has admitted there have been initial talks already over the transfer.

Evans said: 'There are further talks next week. I am just waiting to hear.

'Lee Frecklington has made it perfectly clear through his choice he wants to be at Rotherham United. It's now up to the clubs to agree a fee.

'It is more likely to happen than not to happen, but as we have learned it is difficult and we don't talk about it in any great detail until the papers are signed.'

Posh and Rotherham met a fortnight ago to discuss a fee and a second round of negotiations are set for next week.
