'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Ref Watch: Peterborough United v Middlesbrough

The man in charge of the npower Championship match between Peterborough United and Middlesbrough is CARL BERRY.

Carl Berry

Surrey based Berry is a rookie Football League referee! This season will be his second full season officiating in the Football League with this match being his third ever Championship match.

Posh have come across Berry before when he officiated a pre-season game in 2011 against Gillingham. Needless to say, he hasn`t refereed either Posh or Middlesbrough in a League or Cup game.

He is known to like his yellow and red cards so both teams better be wary! So far this season, Berry has officiated 14 matches dishing out 43 yellow cards and four red cards. It`ll be just over two months since he got his red card out of his pocket so he may think it`s time to dust down the cobwebs!

His one Championship match he refereed this season came just three weeks ago, overseeing a 1-1 draw between Bolton and Barnsley. Three yellow cards were issued on that occasion with two going to the home side.

His last outing was last Saturday in the FA Cup where Luton came out 2-1 victors over Dorchester. Five yellow cards were issued with two, again, going to the home side.
