Peterborough United midfielder George Boyd scored a contender for the goal of the season against Huddersfield Town on Tuesday.
Posh were already one goal to the good when Boyd receive the ball from loanee Saido Berahino just inside the Huddersfield half. A second later and everyone was watching the ball sail over the stranded Smithies in the Terriers goal and into the back of the net from approximately 50 yards!!
Needless to say the goal was Boyd's best ever goal as he joked: 'I am glad it went in because the manager would of probably had a go at me for shooting from such a long way out! I have seen it again on Sky several times and I am sure I will keep watching it.
'I scored one against Boston when I first joined the club and that was always my number one, but I think I may have a new number one now! I was obviously very pleased with it, Saido's lay-off was superb and I just caught the goalkeeper off his line and thought I will have a go.'
Posh went on to comfortably win the match 3-1 which also saw them move off the bottom of the Championship and now sit in 22nd place ahead of the upcoming weekend fixtures. Derby County are the next visitors to London Road and a Posh win could see them move out of the relegations places for the first time this season.
