Breeze departs London Road

Winger Matt Breeze has joined Worcester City after his contract at Peterborough United was cancelled by mutual consent.

The 19-year-old, signed professional terms with Posh at the same time as Kgosi Ntlhe and Joe Newell in February 2011.

Breeze, who had a year left to run on his contract at London Road , played for Worcester City in Saturday's 3-0 victory at Stratford Town and also had permission to feature against West Bromwich Albion last night, which City won 1-0 against a youthful WBA side.

Alfrick-born Breeze, on loan at City's Blue Square Bet North rivals Histon last term, was deemed surplus to requirements by Darren Ferguson's Posh and has negotiated his release.

Prior to his release, Worcester manager Carl Heeley said: 'Matt is contracted to Peterborough United for another 12 months but I have spoken to them and he's not in their plans.

'It's all about him being able to do a settlement with Peterborough and he wants to come to Worcester. He's a very good player. I don't foresee any problems.'

Vital Posh wishes Matt all the best for his future and wishes him luck at his new club.
