Keeper signs on the dotted line

Peterborough United finally have a new number one. Goalkeeper Bobby Olejnik has signed from League Two Torquay United.

The 25-year-old Austrian comes in to replace the departing duo of Joe Lewis and Paul Jones and will compete with youngster Joe Day for the no.1 jersey after signing a 3-year contract.

Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony said: 'Just signed new goalkeeper for Posh. Mr consistent with 20 clean sheets last year and a superb addition to our squad to compete with Young Joe for No1.

'Paid a big wedge for the lad but a great acquisition for Posh and the Gaffers number one target. Plenty of Football League experience as well!

'He is one of the best goalkeepers outside the Championship I'm told.'

More signings are expected this week to join Olejnik and the other newcomers Danny Swanson, Nat Knight-Percival and an as yet unnamed 18 year-old striker.
