Swanson Completes Posh Move

Former Dundee United midfielder Danny Swanson has this afternoon completed his transfer to Peterborough United.

The 25-year-old has signed a two-year contract at Posh following a successful medical.

Swanson, who was called up to the full Scotland squad for the first time last year only to drop out through injury, is delighted to sign for Posh as he told the Posh website: 'I am very happy to be here and am very much looking forward to playing for Peterborough. I was very impressed with the manager Darren Ferguson.

'I have spoke to a few clubs and I have to say that Darren sold the club to me. He told me the formations the team play and where I would fit into that shape and it is great that a manager knows so much about you.

'Peterborough play good football, that is very evident from the DVDs I have seen and also the things that some of my friends in the Championship have said,' Swanson said.

Swanson has played 107 times for the Tannadice club and scored 12 goals during his four years there. He was selected for Scotland for the Euro 2012 qualifiers against Spain and Liechtenstein in 2011 but was forced to pull out of the squad after suffering medial knee ligament damage. It was the first time he`d been called up by the national team.

His career has been blighted by injury and suspensions but when injury free, he has been a very useful squad member and even won the 2010 Scottish FA Cup.
