Posh Team Polls

Throughout the summer, Vital Posh are holding a number of polls to decide which players were best in what position. We kick-off with the goalkeeping position.

1. Joe Lewis

Joe has been a regular in the Posh side since being snapped up from Norwich City when Posh were playing League Two football. He has seen some excellent times at Posh, having been part of three promotion winning sides as well as being called into the England side!

However, an injury sustained in the League One Semi-Final Play-Off defeat by MK Dons last season saw him sidelined for the early part of this season. When he did finally win a starting place back, his form fluctuated as he made some excellent saves but at the same time he made some absolute howlers. He was eventually dropped after the calamitous game at Cardiff City.

28. Paul Jones

Joined on loan at the back end of last season, he was forced into the Posh team in the play-off first leg at MK Dons when Lewis suffered a serious knee injury sustained following a clash with fellow Posh player Charlie Lee. His first 45 minutes for the club was a disaster as he conceded a goal early into coming on.

He`s played the majority of this season but, just like Lewis, has been very hit and miss and has his obvious flaws.

Vital Posh View:

This season saw us with two goalkeepers who on their day, are excellent, but at the same time, they have their flaws and have cost us vital goals.

Lewis has already moved on following the end of his contract while Jones looks to be heading out as well as negotiations for a new contract have stalled.

This is an area Posh must improve upon next season as a decent keeper can win you numerous points throughout the season.

However, who do you think was the better of the two and should represent Posh in the Vital Posh team of the season in the goalkeeping position?
