'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Another Youngster Signs on the Dotted Line

On a day when the senior side find out if they are in Darren Fergusons plans for next season, a second youngster has agreed terms for his first professional contract.

James Sage has signed a two-year contract with Peterborough United, having impressed Ferguson.

17-year-old Sage has travelled with the first team squad in recent matches and will be one for the future as he gains experience from next season as he joins up with the Posh first team.

Darren Ferguson said to www.theposh.com: 'James has improved massively and fair credit to the boy for that. He has got better and better and when he has trained with the first team he has looked comfortable.

'He can play at left-back or centre back, but I think he is better at centre back. We have high hopes, but we don't want to get carried away.

'We have to make sure we continue to bring the youngsters through, it is as simple as that.' Ferguson said.
