Ref Watch - Ipswich Town v Peterborough United

The man in charge of the npower Championship match between Ipswich Town and Peterborough United is GARY SUTTON.

A League referee since 2005/06, Sutton, from Lincoln, has refereed 28 games so far this season dishing out 84 yellow cards and 8 red cards. Of the 28 games, only 6 have been Championship matches!

Sutton last took charge of a Posh match way back in October 2010 when Posh lost to League One leaders 3-0. Five yellow cards were issued during that match along with a very harsh red card for George Boyd for a tussle with Ashley Barnes.

Ipswich have much fonder memories of Sutton after he refereed them back in December when they traveled to Yorkshire for a clash against Barnsley. They traveled home to Suffolk happy having won 5-3. The only downside was that he issued five yellow cards and they all went to Ipswich players!
