Vital Posh looks at previous matches between Peterborough United and Blackpool.
Peterborough United host fellow Championship promotion hopefuls Blackpool to London Road on Saturday with both teams looking for points for different reasons.
Posh are currently 18th in the npower Championship with 38 points from 34 matches while Blackpool are currently 5th with 56 points from 35 games.
The corresponding match to this earlier in the season was on a gloriously sunny Sunday afternoon in August. It was just the second League match of the season which finished 2-1 to Blackpool. A brace by veteran Kevin Phillips either side of half time set the Tangerines up for the win but they suffered a late scare when George Boyd pulled a goal back in the 82nd minute with Posh then camping in the Blackpool half in an attempt to get a much deserved equaliser which failed to materialise.

Posh and Blackpool have faced each other on 29 occasions in the League. Posh just have the edge over their North West rivals with twelve wins compared to Blackpools ten. There have been seven draws between the two sides.
At London Road, it is very even with three wins each and four draws.

Last Time Out at London Road
Posh last entertained Blackpool at London Road in what was Posh`s final home League game of their last disastrous Championship season.
Going in to the game, Posh had already been relegated as they were rooted to the bottom of the Championship with a measly 31 points from 44 games. Blackpool were on the fringes of the play-offs in 7th place with 66 points from 44 games.
Posh started the game by giving youngster James McKeown a chance between the sticks and he certainly didn`t let anyone down. Danny Andrew was also making a first start in Posh colours.
Tangerines forward DJ Campbell had the first effort of the half after only a minute on the clock but he dragged his effort wide of the Posh goal after beating Andrew to the bouncing ball.
Brett Ormerod was next to try his luck but he also fired wide of McKeowns goal. It wasn`t long though before Blackpool hit the target and it was DJ CAMPBELL who followed up his overhead kick, which was superbly saved by McKeown, by scoring from close range.
Ian Evatt nearly doubled the score from a corner but his powerful header saw yet another excellent save by McKeown. Andrew then managed to clear the danger as Campbell tried to bundle the ball over the line.
Posh finally had an opportunity of their own when Liam Dickinson saw his header cleared to safety by Stephen Crainey. The ball was quickly down the other end though with Gary Taylor-Fletcher trying to catch out McKeown with a snap shot but the Posh keeper claimed easily.
A good pass from Josh Simpson set up another chance for Dickinson but his 20 yard effort went wide of the goal. A Tommy Rowe corner then found the head of Charlie Lee but Gilks, in goal for Blackpool, plucked the ball from the air.
A mistake by Ryan Bennett allowed Taylor-Fletcher the chance to round the keeper but he took the ball wide before setting up the on-rushing Campbell but McKeown somehow saved his effort.
Half-time: Peterborough United 0 - 1 Blackpool
No changes were made at half time with both camps happy with the performance so far.
Keith Southern had the first chance of the second half but his effort went over the bar. Evatt then tried his luck with a curling effort but it posed no threat to McKeown.
Some good play by Craig Mackail-Smith saw him beat two Blackpool defenders before toe-poking his effort towards the Seasiders goal. Gilks could only parry the effort into Dominic Green`s path but his effort was blocked before Natahn Koranteng fired wide from close range.
Some neat teckers from Charlie Adam set up a chance for Ormerod but his volley after 64 minutes was saved by that man McKeown again.

Campbell raced clear after 75 minutes following a mistake by Andrew only to see McKeown block his attempt at goal. Bannan then had a chance when he broke clear but McKeown was in the right place at the right time to stop his effort.
Posh did create a few chances late on in the game with substitute Ben Wright hitting his effort from 12 yards straight at Gilks before Mark Little fired wide as Posh made a last ditch attempt to snatch an undeserved equaliser.
Final Score: Peterborough United 0 - 1 Blackpool
This result moved Blackpool into the final play-off place with Swansea dropping down to 7th.
