No Signings Expected Before Weekend!

Peterborough United boss Darren Ferguson has confirmed he doesn't expect any players coming in before this weekend!

With the departure of centre back Ryan Bennett to Norwich City, Posh were expecting to sign a replacement on loan for the remainder of the season.

However, things have not gone to plan so Posh will be forced to go ahead with this weekends tough trip to Crystal Palace with just one regular senior centre back in the squad!

Right back Craig Alcock can play at centre back as can Mark Little while Posh did recently sign centre back Shaun Brisley on loan from Macclesfield Town with a view to signing him permanently in the summer.

Brisley hasn't settled very well to life in the Championship and may not feature for Posh this season. Ferguson confirmed: 'Shaun is finding it a little bit difficult to adapt to the tempo of the training we do, but that can happen sometimes.'

Alcock is now the favourite to claim the vacant centre back slot at the weekend.

Fergie added: 'Craig Alcock will be fit and can play at centre-back if required.'
