Head to Head - Peterborough -Vs- Portsmouth

Vital Posh looks at previous matches between Peterborough United and Portsmouth.

Peterborough United welcome a south coast based team for the second week running as former Premiership outfit and 2008 FA Cup winners Portsmouth travel to London Road.

Posh and Pompey have played each other on just 13 occasions in the League with Posh just edging it with 4 wins compared to Portsmouths 3 wins.

Prior to this season, the last time these two teams met in the League was 18 years ago when Posh came away from Fratton Park as 2-0 victors.

Earlier this season, Posh also came away with a 3-2 win thanks to a last minute Ryan Tunnicliffe goal.

Last Time Out at London Road

The last time Portsmouth played at London Road was eighteen years ago when both teams battled their way to a 2-2 draw.

John McGlashan opened the scoring in the first-half for Posh before John McLaughlin and Paul Walsh, with a classy chip, turned the game round in Pompey`s favour. Pompey led 2-1 at half time but a Tony Adcock goal level things out.
