Who to fill the McCann void?

Peterborough United captain Grant McCann has been ruled out for up to 10 weeks, but is there anyone in the squad that can take his place?

Posh boss Darren Ferguson is confident he will be able to find an adequate replacement for his injured skipper who faces between 6 and 10 weeks out injured with a medial knee ligament injury.

Ferguson insists the current squad will be able to provide cover as he said to www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk: "It`s a big, big blow to lose such an important player like Grant for so long, especially as his form has been so good.

'We have shown in the last couple of games that we have good back-up in the squad.

'Ryan Tunnicliffe has played in Grant's position before this season, but it might be a case of moulding someone into the role.

'Danny Kearns and Joe Newell both did well when they came on as substitutes at Leicester. Danny is going to be a good player, there is no doubt about that.'

McCann is confident that he won`t be out for the full 10 weeks but is already frustrated with being out of action as he tweeted: "What a boring day I have had treatment, treatment and more treatment followed weights and treatment!! Me and injured don't mix".

He also went on to thank everybody on Twitter who had sent him well wishes and said he wouldn`t be out for 10 weeks.

Should be out for the whole 10 weeks, he`d miss 11 games including the FA Cup third round tie against Premiership side Sunderland and the fourth round should Posh beat The Black Cats.

What do you think?

Can Tunnicliffe fill McCanns shoes or will Fergie opt for someone else?
