Massive blow for Posh

Massive blow for Posh

Peterborough United captain Grant McCann has been ruled out for 10 weeks!

A torn medial knee ligament looks set to temporarily halt Grant McCanns excellent season.

McCann sustained the injury when making a block tackle during the weekend draw at Leicester City and was unable to continue.

He has been a vital part of the Posh line-up where he has scored 8 goals in 22 games this season making him the joint fourth highest scorer in the npower Championship!

Talking to www.theposh.com, Posh boss Darren Ferguson said: 'It is a blow to lose Grant for that long.

'He has been in very good form, but the players that came on did well for us.'

Northern Ireland international McCann is obviously disappointed to pick up the injury said: 'It is very frustrating and disappointing to be out for so long.

'It was a block tackle and my knee has just opened up. I tried to carry on but it didn't happen.'

McCann is expected to be out of action for between 6 and 10 weeks.

Vital Posh wishes Grant a speedy recovery.
