One In One Out For Under 21`s

Fresh from staring in England Under-21`s game against Norway last month, Peterborough United centre back Ryan Bennett has had to withdraw from the current England Under-21 squad with a thigh injury.

Meanwhile, another Posh youngster has been drafted into the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad. Midfielder Daniel Kearns was signed by Posh from Irish side Dundalk in August and has made a few brief appearances for Posh from the substitute`s bench. The Republic face a team from Liechtenstein.

IRELAND U-21 - I McLaughlin (MK Dons), A McCarey (Wolves), L Oyebanjo (York), S Duffy (Scunthorpe*), R Kiernan (Wigan), G Cunningham (Nottingham Forest*), M Connolly (Bolton), G Gunning (Dundee Utd), RTowell (Hibernian*), A White (Leeds), A Barton (Preston NE), C Clifford (Yeovil*), J Hendrick (Derby), R Brady (Hull City*), A Greene (Sligo), D Kearns (Peterborough), J Collins (Shrewsbury), K Sheppard (Shamrock Rovers).
* On loan

Looking ahead to Posh`s next match against Europa League team Birmingham City, Posh are hopeful that Bennett will be fit enough to face them.

Posh manager Darren Ferguson explained to www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk "Ryan reported for England duty, but still didn`t feel right on Monday. I spoke to Stuart Pearce and, fair play to him, he sent Ryan back straight away. He wouldn`t have been fit enough to play tomorrow and he would have been touch and go for Monday.

"He will have a scan. We`re confident it`s not a strain, but we`ll know for sure at the end of the week."
