Foxes Kennedy Back At Posh

Left-back Tom Kennedy has re-joined Peterborough United on loan for the second season running from Leicester City.

Kennedy spent time at London Road in the latter half of last seasons promotion winning campaign and made 14 appearances before picking up an injury which ended his season.

He's signed a 3 month loan contract which will see him at Posh until the end of the year.

Kennedy may make the substitutes bench for this weekends clash against Doncaster Rovers.

Posh boss Darren Ferguson moved for Kennedy after the loan spell of Chelsea full-back Ben Gordon was cut short by his parent club.

Ferguson said: "Tom did brilliantly for us last season until being injured and it`s brilliant to be able to bring him back."

Kennedy said: "I kept in contact with Darren and other people here during the summer and I always wanted to come back, but my recovery from injury dragged on as it was more serious than first thought.

"I always hoped the opportunity to return would come about and I`m delighted it has arisen now. I spoke to Darren about a week ago but I only found out it was happening when I was driving on the motorway on Thursday.

"I`ve been back training fully for six weeks now and had a few reserve games at Leicester. It hasn`t worked out for me there so I`m really pleased to be here again and I`d definitely like to stay permanently.

"Last season things were starting to go well for me when I got the injury so hopefully I can pick up from where I left off when I was here last season. My first job is to try and get myself into the team.

"If I`m needed today I`m ready, but the international break then gives me time to build my fitness up, train hard and get to know the lads again.

"Peterborough`s good start to the season will have shocked a lot of people because they were being tipped to struggle, but I know that everyone here has faith in each other.

"To be up in the top half of the table is a fantastic achievement and long may it continue."
