DUNDALK AGREE KEARNS TRANSFER

Dundalk FC have confirmed on their website that on Saturday afternoon they agreed the transfer of Daniel Kearns to English Championship club Peterborough United, subject to final details being completed in the coming days.

Kearns, who was set for his 50th appearance for the club on Tuesday night, is expected to travel to England on Monday for a medical, with a deal set to go through once that and the other relevant paperwork is completed.

The UK transfer window closes on Wednesday.

More will follow in due course regarding this transfer.

Player Profile

In April 2007, Kearns was the Player of the Tournament at the prestigious Ballymena International Tournament.

He joined West Ham United in July 2007, and soon settled into life at the Academy despite making the switch to England when still only 15.

He became a regular fixture in the U18 setup, showing himself to be a creative provider with an eye for goal.

After 3 years, Kearns made the trip back to his homeland where he signed for Dundalk in May 2010.

He played 12 times in his first season scoring his first competitive goal against Linfield in the Setanta Sports Cup on St Valentines Day 2011. He went on to score 2 more which was also his first senior hat-trick.

He recently impressed whilst playing for an Airtricity XI team during the 2011 summer.
