Posh after Irish starlet

Peterborough United have tabled a six-figure offer for Dundalk star Daniel Kearns according to Skysports.com.

Posh boss Darren Ferguson has admitted in the past that he is interested in the youngster but Posh are just one of a number of clubs that have been keeping an eye on his progress. However, Posh are the first to show their hand by submitting an offer for the attacking midfielder.

Celtic could be a rival for the 19-year-olds signature after he impressed playing for an Airtricity XI against Neil Lennons Celtic in the Dublin Super Cup last month.

Dundalk were thought to be considering the offer from Peterborough with Kearns out of contract at the end of the Airtricity season in just two months time.

However, according to @BBCCambsSport, Posh have confirmed that the deal is dead!
