'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Posh - Season Ticket Sales Boost!

It`s early days yet but it seems that, already, the impetus achieved by appointing Gary Johnson is starting to pay off.

After the ignominy of relegation there was always a fear that next season could be a toubled one for the club.

One of my fears was that the support would become a little disillusioned about returning to League one football and drift away from London Road.

However, the signs are positive that the Posh support will be staying loyal with the first season ticket sales information being released.

Prior to the arrival of Gary Johnson, as our fourth manager of the season, it transpires that we`d only shifted, so far, 991 season tickets, but the impetus generated by the arrival of a well respected manager, has seen that figure rise by a further 1300 taking us, and it is only April still, through the 2200 mark prompting Johnson to remark,

'It sounds like a good number to me and the more the merrier as far as I'm concerned.

'The fans have made me feel very welcome in a very short space of time and you never know, if they keep buying the tickets I might have bit more to spend on the squad!"

'In all seriousness we are determined to have a go at promotion from League One and we have a bigger chance with a more supportive crowd every week."

'The fans are the life and soul of every club and it makes me happy that they seem to be pleased with that we are planning.'

It remains to be seen just how high that figure will rise!
