Posh - Mackail-Smith Loan Latest!

How fortunes change!

Not too long ago Craig Mackail-Smith was the focal point of our attack, but managerial changes have seen Craig fall down the pecking order.

Rumours swept around the internet implying that Craig could be available on a loan spell with the Posh manager seemingly confirming that Liam Dickinson and Aaron Mclean were ahead of him in the pecking order.

A whisper also went around that Gannon would prefer to loan the player out to keep his match sharpness.

Well it didn`t take long for these whispers to generate solid interest with Leicester City, Reading and Watford all making firm enquiries to take Craig on loan, possibly until the end of the season.

It appears that this interest was met with a swift rebuke from Posh with Barry Fry, commenting on the official site,

'The chairman believes in the great escape. He believes we have a genuine chance of achieving the impossible and wants to try and keep the players at the football club.

'We have therefore turned down offers from three Championship clubs to take Craig on loan.'

Common sense prevails, surely it makes sense to hang onto one of our predatory scorers, does it not!
