Posh - Gannon on Middlesbrough Defeat!

Going a goal down after only seven minutes could have been a recipe for disaster.

But fair play to the lads, they knuckled down and frustrated Middlesbrough and in the end could have nicked a point with that late Josh Simpson chance.

Talking about the performance, Jim Gannon had this to say,

"We can take some satisfaction from the way we played."

"I thought we played well, even though I am a little bit disappointed to have lost."

"I am delighted that we have shown some signs of improvement. Hopefully we can keep this going and the results will come."

And as for that late chance where a point could have been wrestled from our hosts,

"Josh did his best to get fully on the ball but you have to give credit to the defender. It shows we are improving and I`m delighted at that."

Another defeat but a defeat with some positives, time to look ahead to the next fixture now and a clash with fellow strugglers, Ipswich Town, this Tuesday.
