Cardiff v Posh Preview!

Posh face a difficult trip to high-flying Cardiff City this Tuesday!

Jim Gannon would probably have hoped for an easier fixture for his first away trip but, in our situation, beggars can`t be choosers, especially with a trip to play Middlesbrough, this weekend, also looming.

But, with one victory already in the bank under his stewardship, Posh travel to Cardiff with a little bit of confidence especially as Cardiff may have one-eye on that lucrative FA Cup trip to Chelsea this coming weekend.

Squad wise, we can see no reason why Jim won`t go with more-or-less the same starting eleven that served him well on Saturday, the only concern relating to Charlie Lee who was substituted at half time.

Cardiff will be aware of the damage our front three of Boyd, Mackail-Smith and Mclean can inflict, especially on the counter-attack.

Our hosts will have the influential Joe Ledley missing whilst their in form striker, Jay Bothroyd, is only rated as 50-50 with a dead-leg that forced him off in the 5-1 defeat at Newcastle on Friday night. Also out are Mark Hudson, Kelvin Etuhu, Josh Magennis and Gavin Rae

So what about a prediction?

This one will be tough and we`re not expecting Jim Gannon to work miracles. Jim has been honest enough to suggest it`s all about improvement rather than expecting to stay up and if I were to be honest I`d be pleased if Posh can come back from the Welsh jaunt with a share of the spoils. I fear a win would be asking for too much!
