Posh - Gannon Speaks Common Sense!

Posh - Gannon Speaks Common Sense!

Considering the way the fortunes of our recent managers have gone would anyone blame Jim Gannon for quitting whilst he`s ahead?

One game played, one win registered and a clean sheet to boot!

However, before we all get carried away and start thinking that the victory will herald a charge away from the relegation zone, perhaps we should heed the words of Jim who has worked in a similar situation before when he hauled a relegation haunted Stockport side to safety.

This is what he had to say on Saturday night,

"We were seven points adrift when I arrived. Only two teams went down that year and we finished third from bottom. To do that here it has to be almost promotion form between now and the end of the season with other teams having a bad run."

"But I haven`t thought too much about that. I just wanted to set short term targets, gain credibility and
bring out the best in players."

Do I sense a scenario of starting to build for next season and a possible promotion push or could there be a miracle on the cards?
