Posh - Batt`s Pain and Glory?

Posh - Batt`s Pain and Glory?

When Shaun Batt turned and hit that wonderful strike, on Saturday, to give us a share of the points against Middlesbrough we witnessed one of those moments in football that angers many.

Elated at his strike Shaun ran towards the London Road faithful and was subsequently booked. The booking, his fifth of the season, means that Shaun will not be available for the forthcoming clash with Swansea this weekend.

It`s a point that Shaun feels aggrieved about when he commented after the game,

"The referee thought I went into the crowd but I stopped short. I had been on four yellows for a while and I had calmed down so I`m disappointed about that."

And as for that goal,

"I was happy with the goal. I had my back to goal so as the ball bounced I turned and hit it."

"In our position we needed the point but although we`re still bottom there is plenty of fight left in us."

Like I said, it angers many a supporter so why can`t referees be allowed to look at such events, after the game, and correct any poor decisions?
