Since the leaving by mutual consent of Darren Ferguson, I`ve stumbled across many comments, left by punters on various Posh forums, relating to reasons why his departure came about.
Many Posh supporters cite tactics as a weakness, many imply that the realization struck that the Scot realised he`d taken Posh as far as he could and that a relegation wouldn`t be an ideal statement to have on your curriculum vitae.
Personally, I`d prefer to veer away from all the negativity and concentrate on the positive aspects of his reign.
It should never be forgotten that in the short time he was in charge he not only stabilized the good ship Posh but navigated it through two divisions to a level we`d only have ever dreamed about when our club teetered on the brink of losing its very existence.
His also been instrumental in bringing to the club players that he recognized could do a decent job in a higher level of football, players that were gracing the non-league stage, players that would now command seven figure transfer fees.
If you also add into the mix the fact he wasn`t scared to explore unchartered waters, breaking transfer records, gambling on youth and a host of other things you can see why I`m keen to stick with the positives.
I`ve no doubt our paths will cross again and I`m sure I will not be alone in rising to my feet and giving Darren a standing ovation if he ever walks out of the tunnel at London Road again, albeit in the opposition camp.
