Posh 1 Barnsley 2
Another defeat, more woe and things have got so bad we`ve only got Ipswich Town for company at our end of the table.
Sloppy defending again cost Posh dear as they surrendered a lead, courtesy of a penalty from George Boyd, only to be pulled back level some thirty seconds later when Bogdanovic headed home a Macken cross.
Matters got worse before half time when Macken capitalised on Morgan losing his footing prompting Darren Ferguson to come up with a rather unique way of quelling such errors when he remarked, post match,
"If I had a machine gun, I might have to run on to the pitch with it after conceding so soon after our goal. We went ahead but shot ourselves in the foot and lost a sloppy goal. We switched off and let a cross come in too easily."
"It was hugely disappointing - and then we made another mistake and conceded the second goal. The last two years have been rosy but the difference between League One and the Championship is massive."
And there were we thinking a play-off place would be within our grasp.
As for the victorious Barnsley boss, Mark Robins, he had plenty to be cheerful about, commenting,
"This game was billed as a six-pointer and this was a really good performance by us. When I came here, we only had one point - so we`ve turned it around."
Things don`t any easier folks, we`re away to Newcastle next weekend!
