'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Posh - Aiming for the Quarter Finals!

Yesterday, in a brief match preview, I questioned how seriously Posh would take the tie tonight.

Would they give it their best shot or would it be viewed as something of an inconvenience ahead of a crucial Championship encounter with Barnsley on Saturday.

I guess the remarks coming from within the camp imply that, to my relief, it is the former.

In fact the swine flu epidemic that has caught Blackburn unawares could provide the perfect impetus for Posh to go for broke.

Speaking ahead of the clash Darren has remarked,

"I was made aware of the situation at Blackburn but the game is on and it won`t distract our preparations."

"There is a big opportunity here for us to get into the quarter-finals."

"Blackburn will probably be nervous after losing at Chelsea."

"There could be money to spend if we get through and that will be a massive boost."

Now we`re not sure how much money there is to be made form reaching a quarter-final but if we were to make it and we were to draw one of the so-called big four, on their own patch, like Darren implies it would certainly be most welcome in these trying financial times.
