Posh - Finally to Land Their Man?

We, reportedly, chased him all summer but the Grimsby manager Mike Newell kept declining our approaches.

However, Mike Newell is now history as far as Grimsby Town are concerned and Darren Ferguson has launched an audacious swoop to entice Ryan Bennett to London Road.

Various news agencies are suggesting that Bennett will switch to Posh on a three month loan deal with discussion relating to a permanent move commencing during the transfer window in January.

A spokesman from Posh has commented,

'The club can confirm we are in negotiations with Grimsby Town centre-back Ryan Bennett."

'However, he has not trained with us and a deal will not be finalised on Thursday.'

Bennett is rated as a great emerging talent but at the tender age of nineteen, I can`t help thinking that a lot of responsibility, with regards to salvaging our Championship hopes, is being placed on shoulders so young!
