Posh - Promotion Cost Us Dearly!

One of the great things about having Darragh as our owner is that he does keep you in the loop.

In a recent interview with Radio Cambridgeshire, Darragh spelt out just how much promotion, from League One, cost us - a cool £1 million in bonuses alone.

Apparently, the fee had to be paid out to pay the player`s the bonus they were due whilst also settling obligations to clubs we`d bought Joe Lewis, Chris Whelpdale and Gaby Zakuani from.

But, any apprehensions we held about the Championship being a cash-laden league were also put to bed when Darragh remarked,

'People think there is a lot more money around now that we are in the Championship, but that is not the case."

'There is TV money, but ridiculously we don't receive any of it until November and then again in April. We don't pay massive wages at this club, but I had to pay out over a million pound in bonuses last June after we were promoted."

So now we know!
